I will be, in the next week or so posting some of the best recipes I have come across cookie wise. I give away an assortment of cookies every year at this time to friends, teachers and family. I don't always have a lot of time, and so when I find myself in the kitchen I want to spend my efforts on only the best recipes. I have five really strong ones including a gingerbread cookie recipe that I have already posted on this blog twice. These Anise scented fig and date swirl cookies are one of my favorites. When I brought a tray of cookies to my children's daycare a few years ago I was asked by an Italian caregiver for the recipe because they reminded her of the ones her mother used to make. They are sutle tasting, not sugar bombs, and go well with a cup of tea and some quiet.
